Environmental Education Workshop
The Charlotte Harbor National Estuary Program (CHNEP) is a partnership to protect the natural environment from Venice to Bonita Springs to Winter Haven. The CHNEP invites you to its next Environmental Education Workshop. This workshop is an opportunity for those who work with and are concerned about environmental education to network and learn more about solutions to issues facing the natural environment of southwest Florida.
The CHNEP thanks the speakers who are donating their time and expertise and thanks the sponsors of this program, including Mosaic, Janet and Bruce Bunch, GE Foundation, Jelks Family Foundation and the Friends of Charlotte Harbor Estuary, Inc. The CHNEP is still seeking sponsors.
The agenda is not yet finalized but will include:
- Getting a Dose of Vitamin N: Developing Dynamic Programs to Cultivate Mind, Body, and Spirit in Natural Lands: Melissa Nell, Manatee County Parks and Natural Resources Department
- Partnering with Local Businesses to Overcome Visitor Obstacles and Expand Your Reach: Dustin Angell, Archbold Biological Station
- Trusted Colleagues or Unpaid Labor: Volunteer Partnerships: Cindy Bear, Randell Research Center and Calusa Heritage Trail
- Preventing Marine Debris: Putting Human Nature to Work for Mother Nature: CJ Reynolds, International Ocean Institute-USA and USF College of Marine Science
- Water Conservation Efforts and Public Opinion Research: Robin Grantham, Southwest Florida Water Management District
- Reaching Students at Science Fairs, A Student's Experience: Katie Thorp, University of Florida
There is no fee to participate but we do ask that you register by 5 p.m. on October 6.

Archbold's landscape tour will be offered at 8:30 a.m. This tour is limited to 25 people. The workshop is anticipated to begin at 9:30 a.m. and conclude by 4 p.m. Sitting at tables, the capacity of the program is 120 people.
