The Janphyl Village project consists of three interconnected stormwater wetland treatment ponds on a 7 acre parcel . The wetland treatment area covers approximately 4 acres and is located off of Coleman Road in Winter Haven, Florida. The project was completed January 1998. The purpose of this project was to retrofit the abandoned waste water treatment facility that previously occupied this site and provide treatment of stormwater runoff to allow nutrients and sediment removal and to create storage volume to reduce the potential for localized flooding. The remaining 3 acres provides for additional green space to allow for passive recreation such as walking or jogging. Educational signage was installed to educate visitors on the types of fish, water fowl and native aquatic vegetation for this area. |
