Description
Polk County has instituted a street sweeping program in an effort to reduce nutrients entering its waterbodies. This program ensures that 629.65 miles of roads within Polk County get swept every month. These efforts have drastically reduced the amount of total phosphorus and total nitrogen entering the natural systems. TMDL and impaired waterbodies are prioritized in this program.
