Description
Mariana Pond is constructed on a 10 acre parcel purchased by the county in 2002. The system is located on the southside of Lake Mariana. The wetland has 600 feet of lake shoreline. The wetland treatment area is approximately 6 acres . Mariana pond is open to the public for passive recreation and is located at 711 Mariana Road in Auburndale, Florida. It is an excellent bass fishery. Pole fishing permitted with current FL fishing license. Mariana Pond also has an abundant amount of water foul that visit this system on a daily basis. The site also has a live oak estimated to be around 350 years old. The live oak has a DBH of 27 feet. Mariana Pond provides green space for the local community. The sediment removed is the total material removed from the sump area of the pond since 2006.
