Description
The projects goal was to divert water from Winston Creek and pass it through a constructed wetland (75 acres) for treatment of nutrients and fecal coliform bacteria. The project primarily consists of the construction of pump systems with settling ponds to divert flow from Winston and Itchepackesassa Creeks through a constructed wetland area to store and treat the diverted flows and discharge back to the creek downstream. The primary goals of the project are to provide water quality treatment, flood protection, wetland rehydration and improve wildlife habitat.
