Lake Gwyn is a 120 acre track of land along the Wahneta Drainage Canal between the South Winter Haven Chain of Lakes and the Peace Creek Canal. Historically the wetland/lake area was ditched and drained. The project removed the ditch and restored the wetlands thereby providing improved water quality, water storage and wildlife habitat. The partnership project was funded by the Polk County MSTU, SWFWMD, FDEP, and FWC. |
